Karen Bagley

Welcome to Zenergy, so happy you decided to check us out. I am Karen Bagley, one of the owners of this wonderful space we call our home. 

I have been a yoga teacher for 18 years and I believe it changed my life giving me this opportunity to share my love of yoga with others. 

I am the proud mother of three amazing daughters, Kali 25,  who is the GM of the family business, Downey’s Potato Chips, Maddie 24, a second-year Medical student and my youngest Mara, soon to be 18.  Mara is a competitive gymnast who will be heading to college in the fall of next year

I am looking forward to seeing you soon in our studio that welcomes everyone!

Angela Cooper

Hi, my name is Angela. I am a RYT-200/Prenatal Yoga Instructor, Birth Doula, and homeschooling Mom to three energetic little ones. I discovered the transformative impact of yoga after my third baby was born and what began as a search for a quiet hour to myself ended up transforming my life for the better in every possible way, which is why I knew I needed to share it with others! Yoga is practice for life; we don't get to control the things life throws our way but our yoga practice can help us realize just how strong, balanced, and resilient each of us really is. I love teaching Slow Flow and Prenatal Yoga classes designed to be fun, energizing, and relaxing in a judgement-free zone with a focus on cultivating self-awareness and compassion. I look forward to meeting you!

Cristi Harrington

Hi! I'm Cristi. I am so excited to be part of Team Zenergy. I'm originally from Colorado but have been in Michigan since 2001. I love the lakes, trails, and colors of the fall. I am married without kids, but grateful my sister lives on my same lake and shares her three with me!

I’ve taught aerobics classes and personal trained for the past 18 years and have been teaching elementary physical education for 11 years. I am extremely passionate about exercise and nutrition and teach a variety of different formats including boot camp, weight training, Zumba, kickboxing, step, kettlebell, cardio HIIT and interval, and much more.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Psychology with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree from Oakland University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership and a minor in Physical Education from Eastern Michigan University.

I am looking forward to getting to know the clients at Zenergy!

Shawn Jones

Hello! I am Shawn and I have been teaching yoga since 2011. I teach all formats as well as all levels from beginner to experienced.

The favorite thing about teaching is sharing all of the amazing benefits yoga has to offer. When I am not teaching or practicing, I am working my day job as an Analyst, reading and hanging out with friends and family. I live in Waterford with my husband and two daughters.

 

Rita LaFaive

Hi, my name is Rita. I started my yoga journey later in life after retiring from the automotive industry. I am a bit of a geek by nature. I made the leap to yoga, which was completely outside of my comfort zone, after many years of it being on my wish list.

 I love the energy in the yoga room. The stories on each mat are personal and unspoken. As yoga is teaching or practicing, we share the desire to grow, connect, and let go without judgment.

 Yoga is like life, each year my perspective changes. I am not looking for perfection, but rather learning to be a better human, flaws and all.

 My favorite days are yoga in the morning, an afternoon hike with my husband, and dinner with family.

Fitness has always been therapy for me; a chance to sweat through life's ups and downs, connect through movement, get lost in the music, and find a little more clarity. 

Yoga has been my journey inward and has allowed me the openness with mind, body, spirit, and breath.

Any life filled with fitness and yoga has the chance to be healed from past traumas, addictions, depression, and everyday stresses.

Lisa Husken

My passion and dedication to fitness has deep roots dating back to when was I was eight years old. Growing up on softball teams, cross country running, track, volleyball and tennis – there was always a common theme – the need to MOVE!

Since then I have always stayed active, yet my deep passion and burning desire to share fitness with others started in 2018. My life had hit a low point personally, but I joined a community that was supportive, encouraging, and eye-opening! They always say that when one door closes, another opens. I was inspired by one of my instructor’s stories of how they completely transformed their life and I knew I needed to do the same.

 I became RYT 200 Yoga Certified and Reiki Certified Practitioner in 2019. I then obtained my Group Fitness Certification and have had the privilege of teaching a number of group formats including Power Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Tabata, Weight Training, and my favorite – Bootcamp! I enjoy helping my students achieve their own individual goals and push themselves past their own mental doubts and barriers. The key is consistency and having fun doing it! I look forward to meeting you and sharing in your own personal journey!

Marisa Marold

Marisa has been a fitness enthusiast for over 20 years. By trying every genre of the workout world she has found her place and love for Group fitness. As a new instructor, Marisa has focused on the ability to help get you out of your head and into your body. Leaving judgment and comparison at the curb so that you can learn to move your own body's way and help by being a part of your most optimal health. Marisa instructs Bootcamp, HITT, Weight Training, Circuit, and Tabata classes. Her goal is always to challenge the participants with new, up-to-date exercises as well as provide the best well rounded, and efficient workouts.

Marisa's love for fitness inspires her two children in their activities and team sports. Her philosophy is that physical movement can lead to the fundamentals of life which include confidence, good health, friendship, and mental well-being.

Maria Blugerman

In Maria's class, you can expect a well-structured, high-energy, total body workout that will leave you feeling her mantra in your bones: "The body achieves what the mind believes."

Maria enjoys motivating and pushing her students to become the healthiest version of themselves. For years, starting or ending her day with a challenging fitness class has been Maria's outlet for her corporate job. When the opportunity was given to her to instruct her favorite class format, Tabata, she discovered a deep passion for creating fun workouts to share with her students. Since starting to teach in January 2020, she has expanded into various formats like weight training, total body HIIT, kickboxing, and circuit training.

Carey Abraham

Hi, my name is Carey Abraham and I have been teaching fitness since I was 18! I started teaching group fitness classes while in college at Michigan State University. It has always been my second job, but more importantly, my passion.

Fitness has been in my life since I was 5. I was a competitive gymnast and sports were always a part of my life. I love helping others with their fitness journey.

I am a wife and a mom to two girls who are super busy with activities. I own and run two traditional storefront businesses. Besides that, I have a global virtual business and I write curriculum for a large company.

I teach fitness classes at many different facilities and I love cross-training. I teach Barre, Zumba, Weight Training, Kickboxing, and Yoga.

Dana King

This beautiful human has been teaching Yoga at Zenergy from the very beginning. When she’s not teaching yoga you will find her at the ice rink watching her boys play hockey! She brings a warm, loving spirit to our studio and we are so grateful she is here.
